Description
The Introduction to LBISTArchitect training course is designed to teach you the skills needed to prepare designs for structural testing based upon the built-in self-test (BIST) technique. You will learn the basic theory for BIST techniques used in testing logic. In addition, you will also learn about the techniques to make designs testable using Logic BIST approaches and how Logic BIST is added to the design flow. Mentor Graphics' LBISTArchitectâ„¢ software is used extensively during this class. You will learn how to
- Use Logic BIST concepts in the design process
- Ensure your design is BIST-ready
- Use LBISTArchitect
- Take advantage of boundary scan synthesis concepts
- Create Logic BIST structures
Audience
Designers, design-for-test engineers, and test consultants involved with creating testable ASIC's and IC's and producing the manufacturing test sets.Prerequisites
Students should have experience reading, writing and understanding simple HDL structures and code fragments. In addition, students should have a basic understanding of schematic capture, digital simulation, and design concepts and have the ability to create simple schematic designs from a text specification. Although experience with Mentor Graphics software is NOT required, it is useful to have experience with UNIX environments.Key Topics
- Overview of LBISTArchitect
- Logic BIST Concepts
- Making a Design BIST-Ready
- BIST Controller Synthesis
- Fault Simulation
- Boundary Scan
- Fault Coverage
