Description

This course will teach students to utilize the ICX toolset to analyse timing and signal integrity problems associated with designs of high-speed printed circuit board. The course consist of 50% lecture and 50% hands-on lab time using the tools to analyse and solve problems.

You will learn how to

  • List the different IS tools and how they fit into a design flow
  • Manage and correct noise issues such as cross talk, over/under shoot ring back high and low, monotonicity, line impedance, and signal topologies
  • Measure delays for signals and paths
  • Set rules and manage timing errors
  • Setup and run corner case analysis
  • Validate IBIS models

Audience

Set up systems of designs for analysis, running analysis, and validating results

Prerequisites

Engineers involved in, board-level, or system-level high-speed digital design.
Students should have an understanding of signal integrity basics and high-speed circuit board design methodology. Lab exercises will be conducted on workstations using the UNIX operating system.
