Haier IC Adopts Mentor Graphics Eldo Simulator as the Standard Tool for Analog Circuit Design

WILSONVILLE, Ore., August 23, 2006 - Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) today announced that Haier IC has adopted the Mentor Graphics Eldo® simulator as its standard SPICE simulator for analog circuit design. Compared with other SPICE simulation tools, Eldo offers better convergence and reduced simulation analysis time.

"Haier IC has conducted diversified tests and evaluations, and Mentor Graphics' Eldo has proven to be the ideal simulation tool for our technology," said Mr. Yang YanChun, vice general manager of Haier IC. "With the trend of reduced design time, the adoption of Eldo provides us with more comprehensive verification of our design."

Eldo is the choice of simulators for IC vendors and fabless design centers. Worldwide designers use Eldo to design products from the simplest single unit circuits to systems that are made up of thousands of transistors. The Eldo Analog IC and system simulator helps to accelerate the complicated design and verification of analog/mixed signal circuits.

"We are very glad to cooperate with Haier IC more closely and to provide a complete simulation solution with Eldo," said Jue-Hsien Chern, vice president and general manager, Deep Submicron division, Mentor Graphics. "I believe with their advanced simulation design ability, Haier IC will continue to be a leader in chip design."

Mentor Graphics analog mixed-signal simulation technology
The Mentor Graphics ADVance™ MS™ (ADMS) tool is a mononuclear, verification tool that supports various languages for the design of digital, analog and mixed-signal, and radio frequency (RF) circuits. This platform is built upon four high-performance and customer-proven simulation technologies: the Eldo tool for analog simulation, ModelSim® for digital simulation, Mach TA™ for high speed transistor-level simulation, and Eldo RF for radio frequency simulations. The ADMS tool supports most of the design languages that are used in the design and verification of mixed-signal systems and system-on-chip (SoC). These include VHDL, VHDL-AMS, Verilog, Verilog-AMS, SystemC, SystemVerilog, SPICE, and C. Since its introduction, ADMS has gained worldwide acceptance and has been adopted by many customers.
