ViewpointTM

Mature software that supports processes from design to manufacturing.

Product Description

Viewpoint is a test system operating system (OS) for System LSIs. Viewpoint's 'link' functions offer a wide range operations from production processes to manufacturing processes, regardless of online or offline status.

Viewpoint is compatible with data used by conventional manufacturing tools, creating a distraction free environment that helps test engineers think continuously. The Viewpoint OS is based on the UNIX OS, the industry's de-facto standard, allowing easy establishment of TCP/IP based networks.

Viewpoint is a UNIX-based operating system designed by ADVANTEST. It allows simplified production and revision of test programs, execution of such programs, debugging, and analyses of produced data. These functions that cover from designing to manufacturing are available regardless of online or off-line conditions.

Viewpoint supports fully the T6600/6500 series test systems, allowing testing, evaluation, and analyses under a uniform operating environment. Test programs produced by Viewpoint have an excellent portability compared with those used by other test systems.

Benefits to End User of Product and Interface to MGC

Combining Sandwork's solution with Design Architect IC provides a seamless integration for EldoTM and MachTATM simulation analysis needs.
  • To shorten TAT (turn around time) for failure diagnosis.
  • To reduce cost for test pattern generation.
  • To generate test pattern suitable tester configuration.
  • To use IEEE Standard Interface Test Language (STIL).

Company Background

One of the world's leading suppliers of automatic test equipment (ATE) to the semiconductor industry, Advantest Corp. also produces electronic and optoelectronic instruments and systems. A global company, Advantest has long offered total ATE solutions, serving the industry in every component of semiconductor test: testers, handlers, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and software. Its logic, memory, mixed-signal and radio-frequency (RF) testers and its device handlers are integrated into the most advanced semiconductor fabrication lines in the world.

Founded in Tokyo in 1954, Advantest established its North American subsidiary in 1982. Advantest America, Inc., Advantest America R&D Center, Inc., and Advantest Test Engineering Corp. are based in Santa Clara, Calif. The newly established Advantest America Design Center, Inc. is located in Portland, Oregon.

Description of Integration

Shortening of the development time for test programs is an important challenge in the semiconductor market of today. It is quite possible to contribute to early introduction of your product and improvement in yield of the manufacturing process by integrating FastScan and Viewpoint. The measurement result in the tester is interfaced with STIL between FastScan and Viewpoint, and it enables mutual connection to generate the data according to the diagnostics function of FastScan.
