Power Management & Smart Energy Profile 2.0 Focus on Tuesday Feb 25 at Embedded World in Nuremberg

Attending Embedded World in Nuremberg later this month?  Prior to visiting the Germanisches National Museum, check out Mentor Embedded at Hall 4, Booth 4-422.  We’ll have two Power Management focused presentations based on papers done by Colin Walls and Andrew Caples:

Power Management in Embedded Systems – by Colin Walls, 14:00

“We will discuss design considerations that should be made when starting a new power sensitive embedded design, which include choosing the hardware with desired capabilities, defining a hardware architecture that will allow software to dynamically control power consumption, defining appropriate power usage profiles, making the appropriate choice of an operating system and drivers, choosing measurable power goals and providing these goals to the software development team to track throughout the development process.”  To see a short video on designing for Low Power, visit this page and click play on the big box: http://www.mentor.com/embedded-software/nucleus/power-management

Explore Hardware and Software Strategies to Design Smart Energy Profile (SEP) 2.0 Compliance Devices – By Andrew Caples, 16:00

SEP 2.0 is quickly becoming the go-to standard for developing innovative connected products and services for the smart grid. In this session you will learn about the requirements to develop a SEP 2.0 compliant device and explore the hardware and software strategies you can apply to address the connectivity and security requirements laid out by the SEP 2.0 specification. Another of our colleagues, Srinath Balaraman, did a web seminar on this same topic which is available on-demand which you can check out here: http://www.mentor.com/embedded-software/events/explore-hardware-and-software-strategies-to-design-smart-energy-profile–sep–2-0-compliant-embedded-devices?clp=1

We have other exciting presentations scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday at Embedded World as well as a handful of demos– stay tuned for more details on those.  In the meantime, you can click here to learn more about everything Mentor Embedded is doing at Embedded World:  http://www.mentor.com/embedded-software/events/embedded-world

Safe travels.
