About the Presenters

Presenter Image James Wickett

James is an innovative thought leader and technologist in the DevOps and InfoSec communities and has a passion for helping big companies work like startups to deliver products in the cloud. He got his start in technology when he ran a Web startup company as a student at University of Oklahoma and since then has worked in environments ranging from large, web-scale enterprises to small, rapid-growth startups. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, James is currently working in a startup-like team building cloud-based products for the Embedded Software Division of Mentor Graphics ( James is a dynamic speaker on topics in DevOps, cloud computing, cloud security, security testing and Rugged DevOps.

Presenter Image Andrew Caples

Andrew Caples is a product marketing manager for the embedded systems division of Mentor Graphics. He has over 20 years of experience in start-ups and fortune 500 high tech companies and has served in a variety of roles ranging from technical marketing to sales management. He has a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic University. His current responsibilities include product management for the Nucleus Real Time Operating System.

Presenter Image Kamran Shah

Kamran Shah is the Director of Marketing for Embedded Software at Mentor Graphics. He has held multiple technical roles that span product marketing, product management and research and development. Throughout his career Kamran has led innovation in the areas of development of embedded systems with heterogeneous targets, software defined radio systems and cloud based development tools and services. Kamran has been awarded 18 patents and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.

Presenter Image Felix Baum

Felix Baum is working in the Product Management team of the Mentor Graphics Embedded Software Division, overseeing the virtualization and Multi-OS and Multi-Core technologies. Felix has spent nearly 20 years in the embedded industry, both as an embedded developer and as a manager. During the last few years he led product marketing and product management efforts for various real-time operating system technologies and silicon architectures. Before that, working in business development, he managed the technical needs of strategic alliance partners around the globe, helping them address the challenges of integrating and promoting joint solutions for mutual customers. Prior to that as a field applications engineer in the greater Los Angeles area, he consulted with customers on the development of highly optimized devices for a broad range of industries, including Aerospace, Networking, Industrial, Medical, Automotive and Consumer. Felix started his career at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, designing flight software for various spacecraft and managing a launch campaign for the GRACE mission. Felix holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the California State University at Northridge and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Presenter Image Matt Radochonski

Matt is a member of the Embedded Software marketing team at Mentor Graphics and hosts the division's live Hangout broadcasts. He has a background in Marketing and Advertising, running innovative and complex online & offline programs for technology clients for the past 14 years. Prior to joining Mentor Graphics in 2009, Matt spent worked in an agency capacity focusing on award-winning technology campaigns. Matt graduated from the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business in 2000.

Presenter Image Karthik Gaekwad

Karthik Gaekwad is an experienced web software engineer with a passion to quickly design and develop secure cloud hosted software products. Karthik's expertise lies in building REST API's, web user interfaces and cloud based authentication and authorization. Karthik lives in Austin, Texas and is an organizer for Devopsdays Austin, and CloudAustin.
