Using System Builder for Embedded Linux System Development
On-demand Web Seminar
ABSTRACT

Mentor Embedded System Builder overcomes the limitations of previous Linux build systems to give you a rich, next-generation systems integration tool, based on the open source OpenEmbedded project. In this webinar, you’ll learn System Builder basics and customizations.
Overview
Open source build systems have been around for a long time in many different forms. Mentor Embedded Linux System Builder is the next-generation development environment for building embedded Linux systems. System Builder is a system integration tool based on the open source OpenEmbedded project which has grown, in part, out of the limitations of the previous generation of Linux build systems.
What You Will Learn
- System Builder overview and methodology
- Metadata: the language of system builder
- How to build root file systems, kernel, and bootloader images
- The importance of cached binaries, BoM tool, and configuration knobs
- Ways to customize your Linux application or platform
