Nucleus Helps Create Better Live Sound with Clair iO from Lake Technology Limited
The selection of Nucleus RTOS was primarily based on two major factors: Mentor's flexible business model and the software's faster time-to-market reputation.
Other reasons for selecting Nucleus included the ease of integration and excellent support from Mentor Graphics' technical support team.
"I have been very pleased with Mentor Graphics' Nucleus RTOS for our ARM 7 microprocessor. We have experienced excellent reliability," said Marcus Altman, software architect, Lake Technology Limited, Australia. "I was hesitant at first because I felt we could do a more customized approach ourselves, but on receiving Nucleus, we were very quickly up and running with functionality that may otherwise have taken me a year to implement. The support has been excellent." Bruce Jackson, Vice President, R&D, Lake Technology Corporation.
The implementation of Nucleus into the Clair iO product line began about 4 years ago and Lake Technology began shipping the product in April 2002. Lake Technology Limited intends to continue developing with Nucleus software
The Clair iO
The Clair iO is a 2-input, 6-output loudspeaker controller that employs 40-bit floating point DSP processing for a wholly innovative approach to live sound. Lake developed the iO in conjunction with Clair Brothers Audio Enterprises, arguably the world's largest touring sound company and sound engineers for major artists.
The iO's innovative design extends to the way the processor receives commands. It is unique in its wireless network capability. Using a wireless touch screen controller, sound engineers can move around a stadium or an arena, hear exactly what the audience will experience in each location, and make appropriate adjustments on the spot.
“The whole process of integrating Nucleus into our platform was painless. The staff has been friendly, and support first class. As a result of our recent experiences with this product, I have recommended Nucleus to a number of other companies.”
