Nucleus RTOS provides Trilithic’s developers with an embedded operating system that is easy to use, easy to install, and that keeps costs down.
“We needed a robust OS with a networking stack and support at a reasonable price for two simultaneous design projects.”
Gary Sinde, project engineer, Trilithic
Nucleus RTOS Chosen for the 9581 SST Return Path Analyzer from Trilithic
Developers at Trilithic needed an embedded operating system that was simple to use and easy to install. They also wanted a flexible business model to control costs.
The decision centered around four OSes: Blunk, Nucleus RTOS, VxWorks and Windows CE. Nucleus RTOS was chosen for its robustness and ease of use. Developers also liked the availability of Nucleus software training, specific processor support and tested integration with their chosen compiler.
Nucleus RTOS has a successful reputation for providing the foundation for many embedded applications in the industrial controls market. The comprehensive software family includes kernels, networking, USB, graphics and file system software.
The 9581 SST Return Path Analyzer
The 9581 SST is part of the Guardian Family. The centerpiece of the Guardian Return Path Maintenance System, the 9581 SST performs the dual functions of supporting Trilithic field units and supplying monitoring data to local and remote controllers. The only DSP-based return analyzer in the industry, the 9581 SST is as cost-effective as it is fast and versatile.
“Overall, Nucleus RTOS has proven to be a solid running OS by providing the reliable foundation we needed to successfully develop our products. Nucleus RTOS perfectly met our design needs.”
Gary Sinde, project engineer, Trilithic
