What is a Go URL?There it goes again… Every four years it’s the same struggle… How can one survive being both a soccer fan and an EDA professional when DAC and the FIFA world cup collide? In a few hours, France will play Uruguay. How can one soundly go through long final reviews when his home team is playing?
Of course, attending the conference as a visitor or an exhibitor isn’t quite the same thing and the preparation work is rather different. While as an exhibitor I am furbishing presentations and demos, attendees go through the selection process of deciding which presentation to watch and which vendor booth to visit. Luckily for visitors, whether soccer fans or not, EDA analysts are now publishing insightful “what to see at DAC” lists, a very useful selection of the hot trends and topics not to be missed.
This year, and for the second time in a row, High-Level Synthesis in general and Catapult C in particular are getting high marks. In fact Catapult C made it on at least 5 lists this year:
- Gary Smith’s “http://garysmitheda.com/paper/What2SeeDAC2010.pdf“
- John Cooley’s “Cheesy Must See List for DAC 2010“
- Gabe Moretti’s “Gabe’s DAC 2010 Preview“
- Brian Bailey’s “Must see list for DAC 2010“
- Bill Muray - unfortunately SCDSource went offline early May…
Preparing RecommendationsThis is obviously great news for the HLS market and an strong acknowledgement of the growing importance of this technology in today’s design flows. I certainly hope to see you in Anaheim, on Mentor’s booth 1383 and in our suite sessions. We will also have an espresso corner were we can conveniently discuss HLS… and the world cup…
Till then, Allez La France, Allez les Bleus!
