Course Overview
Education Services can help you acquiring the skills needed to develop your knowledge and improve your usage of Artist Link interface. This tool allows you to run Mentor analog and mixed-signal simulators (Eldo, Eldo RF and ADVance MS) within Cadence® environment.
PLEASE NOTE: This course may be modified to focus on any one or all three of these product. Course modification will have an effect on the duration of the class
You will study all mandatory setup to use Artist Link with Eldo, ADVance MS, Eldo RF simulators and EZwave viewer. You will be shown the advantages of the statistical analyses integration. The use of behavioral models (VHDL, Verilog, VHDL-AMS, Verilog-AMS) will be discussed and demonstrated in the ADVance MS chapters. With this course, you get a synthesis of all required information to optimize the usage of Artist Link. This goes from standard steps and setup to various tricks key for a good mastering of your simulation environment.
ADVance MS: You will learn how to
- Install and set up Artist Link to run ADVance MS simulations
- Compile behavioral models and run an ADMS simulation in standalone mode (outside Artist Link)
- Use the appropriate methodology to create simulation views for behavioral models (create an ADMS library in Artist Link or import an existing one)
- Manage interface elements (boundary converters)
- Use efficiently EZwave with its waveform calculator
- Answer technical questions through various key tips and tricks, but also with an effective usage of documentation and access to Mentor Customer Support tools.
ELDO: You will learn how to
- Install and set up Artist Link to run Eldo simulations
- Run standard Eldo simulations, including DC back-annotation
- Use efficiently EZwave with its waveform calculator
- Make effective use of Eldo DC-analysis capabilities, algorithms and major options to tune accuracy
- Perform extracts, run multiple and iterative simulations
- Set up and run in Artist Link noise, sweep, Monte Carlo and Corner Case analyses as well as perform an optimization
- Have a general understanding of latest transistor models usage in Cadence environment as well as other Mentor tools dedicated to Analog and Mixed-signal Simulation.
ELDO RF: You Will Learn How to
- Install and set up Artist Link to run Eldo simulations
- Run all standard Eldo RF simulations (SST, MODSST …), including DC back-annotation
- Use efficiently EZwave with its waveform calculator
- Make effective use of Eldo RF analyses and their applications to various types of circuits (oscillator, frequency divider, pll)
Hands-On Labs
Throughout this course, extensive hands-on lab exercises provide you with practical experience using ADVance MS, Eldo or Eldo RF, going through both possible flows regarding behavioral models usage in a schematic environment and setting up appropriately your boundary converters according to the various power sources available in your design
Audience
This course is intended for analog, digital, and mixed-signal designers who want to be able to master the usage of Eldo, Eldo RF or ADVance MS inside Cadence front-end environment.
Prerequisites
- Familiarity with Unix operating systems
- Familiarity with Cadence environment
- Practical experience with analog design and simulation
