Mentor Graphics Enhances Leading Wire Harness Design Solution

WILSONVILLE, Ore. - Jan 31, 2003 - Mentor Graphics Corporation today announced the latest version update to the Mentor Graphics? Logical Cable^TM schematic authoring tool for the logical design of electrical wire harnesses. Logical Cable now features the powerful ViewWare tool, a Java-based program that gives users the flexibility to quickly view schematic diagrams outside of Logical Cable. The update also includes enhanced design functionality for improved productivity and reliability, as well as tighter integration with MCAD tools from EDS, additional export capabilities and AIX operating system support.

ViewWare, the unique Java-based schematic viewer available for wire harness design tools, allows users to view schematic drawings of logical wire harness designs outside of the Logical Cable design environment. Designed for maximum ease and flexibility, ViewWare allows Logical Cable users to view and share schematic information after designs have been created in Logical Cable.

Enhanced Integration with Unigraphics
As part of its continued support for integration with leading MCAD tool providers, Mentor Graphics has enhanced the integration between Logical Cable and the EDS UG/Wiring application. Logical Cable allows users to export combination data and conduct design checks prior to export to eliminate potential errors.

New Export Capabilities
With the latest update Logical Cable users are now able to export schematic data in CGM and DXF industry standard formats, allowing for quick and accurate transfer of manufacturing information.

Platform Support
The Logical Cable environment is now compatible with the AIX 4.3 and up operating system, as well as Microsoft Windows NT/2000, Solaris 2.6 and up and HP 10.20 and up.

Pricing and Availability
The Logical Cable D.2 update is available immediately. Existing customers with support contracts in place will receive the update at no additional cost
