Automate Production Module/Sub-Assembly for Modular Harnesses

Details

Overview

Harness manufacturers have a choice of manufacturing and assembly methods for creating a harness - the harness may be assembled wire-by-wire on a single formboard, or it may be assembled from a number of sub-assemblies (production modules). The correct definition of production modules can have a large impact on the overall manufacturing cost. Yet finding the optimum definition has, until now, been a specialized "art", performed by experts using a variety of ad-hoc tools.

Join us for this web seminar and we'll show you how Mentor Graphics' modular harness tools allow you to generate the production modules and supporting documentation - saving design time and allowing designers to optimize the cost vs. complexity.

What You Will Learn

  • How a harness can be designed, then decomposed into a set of production modules using automated rule-driven algorithms
  • How the manufacturing engineer can interact with the harness design to control the production module decomposition and optimize the definition of modules and cost
