What It Does

Inflexion Platform UI is aimed at consumer electronic devices, by which we mean any product with a graphical display that is designed to be used by mass market consumers ‘out of the box’. 

This is a broad category, encompassing devices as diverse as TVs, media centers, and mobile phones.

Such products may differ greatly in form factor and function, but in terms of user interaction they have a lot in common.  Inflexion Platform UI exploits these commonalities to simplify the challenges associated with delivering great interfaces.

Inflexion Platform UI fulfils the role of a customizable and extensible menu system for consumer electronic devices.

• It is a menu system because it provides a consistent, easy to use way for the end user to navigate and access all of the features, content and services that a device supports.
• It is extensible because it offers a simple API by which its UI services can be utilized by any other embedded software on the device.
• It is customizable because all aspects of the interface – from the structure of the menu hierarchy to the visual appearance of every on-screen element – can be fully controlled without alteration to the device’s software stack.
