In this session, discover how a true, designed-for-purpose embedded operating system, like the Nucleus OS, is better suited to the precise demands of embedded applications when cost is an issue. BitRouter Corporation, a global provider of digital TV converter box software solutions for the OEM market, has implemented similar set-top boxes (STB) using both Nucleus OS and Linux. The Nucleus OS based STB required 1MB of Flash whereas the Linux based box required 4MB for identical functionality. The additional memory requirements for Linux put the OS at a competitive disadvantage.
In addition to presenting the ideas and facts on this topic, this session will include an interview with a developer who has real-world success using Nucleus instead of Linux for this cost-sensitive, high-volume consumer product.

What do I need to watch and hear this web seminar?
Mentor Graphics’ web seminars are delivered using Adobe Connect.
