Mentor Graphics Donates Backpacks to Mobile County School System

To help alleviate the hardship left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Mentor Graphics Corporation, an Oregon-based company with an office in Mobile with 177 employees, donated $100,000 to help those local-area employees and their extended families.  The company also sent 1000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to the Mobile County Public School System, at a cost of $172,000.  Mentor recently received a follow-up request from the Assistance League in Mobile. Could we perhaps follow up on our original generosity and send an additional 600 backpacks to hold supplies collected by the Assistance League and the school district? The need is still there because one year after Katrina, many students, especially those from Mississippi and Louisiana, still remain displaced. So Mentor is sending an additional 600 backpacks.
