The success of any consumer electronic device depends to a high degree on how appealing and easy it is for consumers to use. Studies have shown that good cosmetic design can lead users to explore a product's full range of features, perceive it as easier to use, and even tolerate its deficiencies. But if the benefits of great looking, easy-to-use UIs are so clear, why do so many products still fall short of customers' expectations? The solution to this problem lies in taking a fresh look at the role of the UI. By identifying common UI functionality and implementing it in a reusable, customizable way, we can make it far easier for embedded engineers to deliver visually engaging and easy-to-use products.
Inflexion Platform UI: Delivering Great Multimedia Experiences
In today's increasingly competitive consumer device market, multimedia-enabled products must offer both a visually compelling user interface (UI) and easy-to-use UI features. The fact remains however; changing an embedded UI is no easy feat. Finding an adequate work-around to the complexities involved in a full-featured UI demands that we accelerate the construction, customization, and reuse of the software for multimedia-enabled embedded systems.
