Reduce Testbench Development and Testing

Today's designs rely heavily on a variety of industry standard interfaces. To effectively verify these designs, designers often spend valuable time building and verifying verification components related to these standards (also know as verification IP or VIP). With the pre-verified, configurable, and reusable verification components in the Questa MVC library, you can reduce the overall testbench development effort and free up time for testing your proprietary modules and functions.

The verification components in the Questa MVC library fit any verification environment. By facilitating and enhancing the application of the Open Verification Methodology (OVM), transaction-level modeling (TLM), and inFact® intelligent testbench automation, Mentor Graphics verification components increase productivity even further.

Using a single model, Multi-View Verification Components (MVC) deliver a scalable verification solution for popular protocols and standard interfaces, including stimulus generation, reference checking, and coverage measurements. MVCs incorporate Mentor’s unique Multi-View technology, which automatically bridges the gap between RTL, TLM, and system-level verification.

Verification with Questa MVC is straight forward: simply instantiate it as a component in your testbench. The built-in capabilities of Quest MVC components automatically provide the entries for the coverage database so you have the metrics in place to track whether all necessary scenarios are covered.

MVC components are also integrated with the Questa debug environment and make use of the transaction viewing capability in Questa so that you can get both signal-level and transaction-level debugging capabilities.

Questa Verification Library (QVL)

The Questa MVC Library leverages the Questa Verification Library (QVL) monitors that are included with Questa. The complete QVL also includes a comprehensive set of RTL checkers and are compatible with 0-in formal tools.
