This demonstration describes some of the challenges that interconnect parasitics pose to current design engineers. It shows how shrinking geometries, advanced processes and varying design styles drive the need for accurate interconnect models and attain accurate post-layout simulation. Calibre xRC is Mentor Graphics' solution for parasitic extraction. xRC uses the hierarchical geometry database to achieve high performance and capacity while maintaining accuracy.
