AMI Semiconductor Partners with Mentor Graphics to Offer State-of-the-Art AMS Technology Design Kits

AMI Semiconductor (AMIS) proudly teams with Mentor Graphics to offer a state-of-the-art analog/mixed-signal (AMS) design kit containing comprehensive and proven building blocks at the device level. The kit enables semiconductor companies and electronic systems manufacturers to jump-start their design cycles using the AMIS foundry process along with Mentor's analog/mixed-signal (AMS) IC Studio Flow. This combination reduces time-to-market and ensures manufacturing success for analog, RF and mixed-signal ICs, and systems on chip (SoCs).

AMIThe Mentor/AMIS TDK provides the necessary design building blocks and captures the essence of a tightly-integrated set of Mentor tools. It provides a complete end-to-end solution for design capture (schematic or netlist), functional verification, physical layout (floorplanning, placement and routing), physical verification (DRC and LVS), parasitic extraction and post-layout verification (parasitic back-annotation to the schematic, and simulation).

Key benefits of the AMIS-Mentor TDK

  • Enhances manufacturing success rates
  • Reduces the setup time for complete schematic and layout design environments
  • Reduces costly rework cycles due to DRC/LVS errors with correct-by-construction device generators
  • Eliminates expensive mistakes due to inaccurate simulation models
  • Available at no cost to customers

AMIS-Mentor Graphics TDK offerings

Process Technology 0.5 µm (C5)

The AMIS C5 process is optimized for 5V mixed-signal applications, offering a medium-density, high-performance mixed-signal technology capable of integrating complex analog functions, digital content and 20V capability. This process delivers the advantages of a dedicated mixed-signal 0.5 µm process without the costs associated with the extra mask steps of a BCD process. Low-voltage transistors in the 0.5 µm process make it ideal for low-power applications.

Feature highlights

  • 2 or 3 metal layers
  • Poly to poly capacitors
  • EEPROM
  • Schottky diodes
  • High-voltage I/O -12/20V
  • High-resistance poly
  • Low-voltage modules
