Mentor Graphics Partners with Jazz Semiconductor to Offer State-of-the-Art AMS Technology Design Kits

Jazz logo

Mentor is proud to team up with Jazz to offer analog/mixed-signal (AMS) design kits which contain a comprehensive and proven set of device-level building blocks that enable semiconductor companies and electronic systems manufacturers to jump-start their design cycles using Jazz's foundry process and Mentor's analog/mixed-signal (AMS) IC Flow together. This combination cuts time-to-market and ensures manufacturing success for analog, RF and mixed-signal ICs and systems on chip (SoCs).

Mentor-Jazz TDKs not only offer the necessary design building blocks, but they also capture the essence of a tightly-integrated set of Mentor tools to provide a complete, end-to-end solution for design capture (schematic or netlist), functional verification, physical layout (floor planning, placement and routing), physical verification (DRC and LVS), parasitic extraction and post-layout verification (parasitic back-annotation to the schematic, and simulation).

TDK Offering

SBC35

SBC35 (SiGe60) is a mature, low-power, cost-effective 0.35 µm SiGe solution for both networking and wireless applications. Designers have the flexibility of using any combination of three bipolar (NPN) transistors, each providing a different optimization for power and speed. With a peak Ft of 62 GHz, it is a clear choice for innovative, high-performance applications. SiGe60 comes standard with three bipolar (NPN) transistors types, 3.3 volt CMOS, deep-trench isolation, lateral PNP transistors, MIM and MIS capacitors, high-performance varactors, poly and N-well resistors and high-Q inductors. SiGe60 options include a triple-well, three or four layers of metal, and a thick top-metal.

BCD25

0.25-micron Bipolar CMOS DMOS (BCD25) processes targeted for the emerging power management and high voltage markets. The Jazz 0.25-micron offering provides a migration path from its industry proven 0.5-micron, 40V BCD process. Jazz BCD25 enables reduction in power consumption, allows significant shrink in the size of power drivers (up to 50% compared with BCD05) and provides a low-cost solution for power applications. Jazz BCD25 processes offer advanced CMOS, a combination of bipolar NPN and PNP devices, as well as high voltage LDMOS FETs that take advantage of 0.25µ rules to reduce on-resistance and size of power cells used in complex power management chips including driver ICs, battery and portable power management, power control for PC products, and Class-D audio amplifiers for both fixed and low-power mobile applications.

CA18HP

The same advanced .18m radio frequency CMOS process as CA18HR with 1.8 and 5.0 volt options plus additional set of HV FET offering.

SBC18

SBC18 provides a next-generation solution for ultra low power, integrated wireless products that require high-performance bipolar transistors with high-quality passives and 0.25 µm CMOS effective density suitable for moderate levels of mixed-signal and logic integration. Use of a self-aligned 0.18-micron SiGe bipolar transistor enables new RF circuit benchmarks for gain, noise figure and linearity to be attained at a cost that is competitive with previous-generation solutions. With a peak Ft of 75GHz, it is a clear choice for innovative, high-performance low-power applications. This process comes standard with two bipolar (NPN) transistor types, 3.3 volt CMOS, lateral and vertical PNP transistors, MIM capacitors, varactors, poly and nwell resistors, and high-Q inductors. Options include deep trench isolation, high-performance varactors, a triple-well, three to five layers of metal, and a thick top-metal.

CA18HR

CA18HR is an advanced 0.18 µm radio frequency CMOS process; it leverages a mixed signal CMOS technology and robust RF modeling capability. This enables integration of RF circuit blocks with multi-million gate CMOS logic functions to create system-on-a-chip solutions. This process comes with 1.8 and 3.3 volt CMOS, lateral and vertical PNP, MIM capacitors, varactors, poly and nwell resistors, high-Q inductors, six layers of metal, using a thick top metal.
