Replacing LEF abstracts with GDS IP automatically
Calibre physical verification jobs read LEF/DEF data directly and can merge on disk IP into a Calibre job without requiring conversion to disk. However, in place and route flows which use Synopsys IC Compiler (ICC), Cadence Encounter Digital Implementation (EDI) or other tools, there are times when you may want to convert and merge LEF libraries into GDS or Oasis database formats:
- Convert LEF MACRO objects to GDS or Oasis format.
- Merge multiple LEF databases into a single (GDS or Oasis) output database.
- Map MACRO PIN and BLOCKAGE objects to output layers.
- Annotate PIN name as TEXT or PROPERTIES in the output database.
