A Step Change in Automotive System Simulation – 1D/3D Integration
Mentor Graphics offers a unique combination of 1D and 3D CFD software designed to complement one another and enable accurate system-level simulation to be used sooner in the design process. With this unique combination design engineers can use FloEFD to perform 3D thermo-fluid analyses and obtain accurate component performance characteristics. These characteristics can then be input directly into Flowmaster to perform 1D system-level analyses. By repeating this process, both components and systems can be rapidly optimized to obtain the required performance and hence help reduce risk early on in the product lifecycle.
This event is offered free of charge. Complimentary refreshments and lunch are provided. To reserve your complimentary seat, please register today!
What You Will Learn
How the simulation tools provided by the Mechanical Analysis Division of Mentor Graphics can be used to perform thermo-fluid analyses of automotive systems and components, such as:
- Fuel systems
- VTM - airside & cooling systems
- Lubrication and exhaust systems
- Hybrid and EV battery cooling
- Thermal management of headlights
About the Presenter
Prior to joining Flowmaster in 2009, Steve spent over 23 years working in the field of automotive consultancy with companies such as MAHLE Powertrain, Ricardo UK, and Weslake Developments Ltd. Now in the role of Senior Industry Product Manager, Steve has aimed to apply an 'user perspective' to the ongoing development of the Flowmaster V7 Automotive product, and its continuing emphasis on the simulation of vehicle thermal management systems. Since Mentor's acquisition of Flowmaster in early 2012, Steve is increasingly focusing on the exciting opportunities now emerging for our automotive customers through the integration of Flowmaster with Mentor's existing portfolio of 1D and 3D simulation products.

FloEFD for CATIA Demonstration
This video gives you a short look and explanation of what FloEFD is. In the video you will see the FloEFD for CATIA integration and how post processing results are displayed inside your CAD system.
Cooling of Electrical Machines
You will see how FloEFD can handle the flow and thermal calculations of complex geometries like a large electrical motor.
Understanding Plume Dispersion
Cooling towers are an integral part of power and chemical plants. Their primary function is to reject heat into the atmosphere as a relatively inexpensive and dependable means of removing low-grade heat...
