Today’s students are tomorrow’s engineers. Mentor’s Mechanical Higher Education Program aims to ensure that mechanical engineering students and researchers have access to the latest fluid dynamics software used in industry.
We recognise this and provide our mechanical analysis software for teaching and educational use at vastly reduced prices. Educational versions of all our software products are identical to those used in industry, with no imposed restrictions on the physical models available or the mesh size. From high school programs through to higher degree university research, Mentor Graphics’ mechanical analysis software provides both the ease-of-use and technical depth needed for all educational needs.
Mentor Graphics Mechanical Division has a long history of collaborative research, and is active within the NAFEMS CFD Working Group and JEDEC Thermal Committee. We support undergraduate teaching and research in fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Working with partners such as PTC & SolidWorks enables high school students to discover that engineering is cool!

High School Program
Mentor Graphics Mechanical Analysis’ Higher Education Program (HEP) also extends to high schools, to help inspire students engaged in STEM education by demonstrating the relevance to the real world.
We provide our FloEFD software for use in high schools through selected initiatives such as F1 in Schools and the US Department of Environment’s Real World Design Challenge in conjunction with partners such as Parametric Technology Corporation and SolidWorks. Through programs like F1 in Schools Mentor Graphics hopes to give students an appreciation of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) in achieving the best design possible and, like all involved in Formula 1, develop a passion for excellence!
