Determining Cooling System Performance using System Level Simulation
White Paper
ABSTRACT
Often it is desirable to quantify the thermal response of a proposed engine cooling system prior to manufacture. Simulation tools provide a forum whereby the adequacy of any proposed design may be evaluated prior to costly testing. The goal of the simulation is not to take the role of testing, but rather to complement any testing normally done in support of a design. Simulation facilitates ‘what if’ scenarios, and in the process, provides direction for tests, reducing the number of design iterations required. Learn how Flowmaster 1D CFD can help determine cooling system performance.
