Dynamic Modelling of a Diesel Engine Test Facility with System Simulation
White Paper
ABSTRACT
A project was undertaken by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology for Mecmar. Mecmar was in the process of constructing a test rig for a diesel engine. The diesel engine is a MTU 183 TE 92 model, which produces 735kW at 2300RPM, which is a typical engine for medium to small vessels that travel at high speeds. The project focused on the performance of the hydraulic engine brake. The team used Flowmaster to simulate cavity formation in the system under different operating conditions. Learn about their findings by reading this whitepaper.
