Liquid Cooling of Bright LEDs for Automotive Applications
White Paper
ABSTRACT
This paper investigates an active liquid cooling solution for high-brightness white LEDs in an automotive headlight application. Thermal design from device to board to system level was carried out and air cooling and passive liquid cooling methods investigated and excluded as unsuitable. An active liquid cooling solution was selected and several configurations studied to optimize the thermal performance.
