A Unique Opportunity

You’ll recall a couple of posts ago that Mentor is sponsoring what promises to be a very fun panel at DesignCon in less that two weeks. The panel, “Science Fiction; Is It Really Fiction” will be Tuesday afternoon.

We have arranged a unique opportunity as well. Following the panel, I will interview panel member Gentry Lee. Lee is chief engineer for the Planetary Flight Systems Directorate at the JPL, as well as a best-selling science fiction writer. He has written numerous books and has collaborated with both Arthur C. Clark and Carl Sagan. Most recently he narrated “Are We Alone” for the Discovery Channel.

For those who cannot attend in person, the entries in this blog should enable you to get a flavor of what Lee thinks about science fiction, and where technology may be headed in the real universe. For those who do attend, I hope to provide you with some deeper and additional travels into the interesting topics discussed at the panel.

Whether you can attend or not, be sure to check this blog for the interview, which will appear over several posts.
