The Altera Stratix GX Design Kit
Mentor Graphics and Altera teams have joined to provide the Altera Stratix GX design kit for the ICX tools. This is the first High-Speed Serial Interface (HSSI) signal integrity design kit to incorporate IBIS 4.1 compliant modesl and IEEE VHDL-AMS models.
The kit contains all the necessary wrappers, examples and documentation to provide fast, flexible analysis and the capability to use the multi-lingual facilities to wrap and simulate other devices, such as s-parameter connector models.

Using IEEE standard VHDL-AMS behavioral models, this kit provides the flexibility to model the configurability of the Stratix GX HSSI and simulate with the accuracy of SPICE, yet at speeds hundreds of times faster. In addition, by utilizing the IBIS 4.1 syntax, the Stratix GX design kit allows the VHDL-AMS (and original SPICE) models to be used with an IBIS 4.1 compliant simulation tool with the same convenience and simplicity signal integrity (SI) engineers have come to expect from IBIS models and specialized SI tools. This, as well as support for process corners, allows SI engineers to perform full-board SI analysis not previously feasible on designs containing high-speed serial technology.
The kit includes custom menus to allow SI engineers to quickly explore the impact of different configurations provided with the Stratix GX HSSI transmitter and receiver, such as transmitter pre-emphasis and receiver equalization, and process corner cases.
