Overview

The hand-off between design and PCB manufacturing is rarely seamless. Inevitably, the manufacturer finds design-inherent conditions that result in increased cost or lower yield. Identifying these problems late in the flow can cause delays and costly re-spin cycles.

We’ll examine, at a high level, the design to manufacturing challenges that have plagued the fabrication and assembly industries. We’ll discuss how Valor’s DFM Analysis technology, an integral part of the PADS solution, can quickly identify and resolve PCB manufacturability obstacles before production.

After the design is validated against DFM analysis related rules, the next step is to effectively communicate the design intent to the manufacturer. The ODB++ data exchange format was designed specifically for this purpose. This webinar will illustrate the value of ODB++ data and provide a method for quick adoption this modern manufacturing hand-off.

What You Will Learn

  • How design to manufacturing challenges hinder Lean Manufacturing
  • How to easily implement a “one-stop” manufacturability verification solution into your existing PADS flow
  • How suppliers’ manufacturing constraints can be implemented within PADS DFM Analysis
  • How the ODB++ format can enable Lean Manufacturing
