RF and wireless technology content is mainstream in a variety of today's designs yet managing mixed technology designs is increasingly difficult and time consuming.
Specialists from Mentor Graphics and Agilent make this seminar highly valuable and productive use of time.
The day starts with a viewpoint from the industry experts at Agilent. Mentor focuses on new integrated RF flows within Expedition Enterprise and Board Station XE 2007 which deliver radically new RF functionality creating compatible RF and PCB part libraries and eliminating ASCII translation of designs. The result will be accurate RF layouts without respins by:
- Designing both the schematic and physical RF circuitry (including database and library)
- Linking directly to leading RF simulations tools such as Agilent ADS, without duplicate databases and libraries or ASCII interfaces.
Critical RF design topics in this class include:
- Full RF parametric shapes support
- Synchronization with Agilent libraries to access the latest RF models
- Specific clearances relative z-axis for RF circuits to effectively create a Faraday cage for RF circuit isolation.
- RF mitered and curved traces for RF simulation compliant interconnects
- RF Layout features which allow seamless design of complex RF circuits in layout
- Collaborative design and simulation of RF circuits demonstating effective, simple RF circuits reuse
- Easy-to-use stitching via algorithms for RF ground planes.
RF circuits can now be designed as a real circuits directly in PCB schematic or be transferred to PCB design from Agilent ADS.

This seminar will address challenges faced by the RF engineer and the PCB layout designer to design and incrementally integrate RF circuits on system designs with various techniques and tools. The seminar includes a hands-on element especially for RF engineers with little experience with PCB tools.
