Tau® models can be created from the timing and functional information contained in Manufactures' Datasheets, or from a number of electronic formats, including TDML and STAMP. The model creation tool included with Tau®, TauLib allows users to create Tau® models from Datasheets alone, or by reading these electronic formats. Tau® models are generally created to be re-used in subsequent designs to provide a repeatable and robust mechanism within your organization for circuit timing analysis.

  Synopsys' open source library format, Liberty™, includes both .lib and STAMP representations. Liberty is supported by more than 60 semiconductor vendors with more than 500 submicron libraries, and more than 30 EDA vendors supply over 75 production tools utilizing the current open source release of Liberty. It has evolved over more than 13 years, driven by tool technology and library modeling needs, and continues to be regularly updated via an aggressive open source model. • TDML
  Timing Diagram Markup Language is an industry-backed effort to establish an open, industry standard language for the exchange of interactive timing diagrams. The TDML specification enables the exchange of interactive timing diagram information in a standard form. Having a standard form for the information promotes sharing between different organizations and allows interested parties to develop tools for generating, editing, browsing, timing diagrams.
