Library Resources

This area lists recognized sources of quality libraries and library resources for DxDesigner and PADS Layout users. Users should always check the accuracy of the devices they employ to ensure correct packaging information.

• Optimum Design Associates Inc.
  A free PADS library of more than 500 PADS Layout decals is available from Optimum Design Associates (ODA), a supplier of PCB CAD libraries, library administration, and layout services. A fee-based library of over 15,000 part numbers is also available which contains the PADS Layout (PowerPCB) decal files as well as the linked DxDesigner symbols and DxDataBook entries.
• PCB Libraries
  PCB Libraries (PCBL) offers all PADS customers:

    Regardless of your experience level, PCBL’s tools can help you create top-quality Mentor land patterns that get your projects out the door on time. The company's involvement with IPC provides peace of mind, by helping ensure that your work is in accordance with the latest IPC standards.
    
    Visit the PCBL website for the latest IPC-7351 PADS libraries, productivity tools, commonly used VB scripts (with instructions), and PCB design generic data.
• PCBstandards
  Containing more than 7,000 footprints, this free library is an excellent base upon which any company can build its own internal library. The library contains documentation and all of the land patterns found in the IPC-SM-782 specification, in the PADS Layout (PowerPCB) format. The entire metric library and a select subset of imperial-based footprints are available to the PADS PCB Design Solution customers at no charge.
• PADS Translators
  Eliminate the need to recreate design libraries from scratch. Free translators are available to convert non-PADS-format schematic, land patterns, and databases into PADS.
• The PADS CD
  Our release CD contains an original library of DxDesigner schematic symbols, as well as PADS Logic (PowerLogic) schematic symbols and PADS Layout (PowerPCB) footprints.
