User Managed Design
Context™ SDM brings product, project, and lifecycle information to the designer, in the customary user interface of the primary development tools. Rather than requiring access and use of the host systems for work items, tasks, requirements, and other project management artifacts, the designers access and interact with all these items directly within the development tool that supports their daily activity.
Unlike centralized data vaults, Context System Design Manager coordinates and links design activity, and lets users manage data with the original design, test, and life-cycle management tools. Its open, standard inter-tool communication technology is built upon Open Services for Lifecycle Management (OSLC, http://open-services.net) and enables outstanding visibility, accessibility, automation, and control throughout a multi-disciplinary design process.
- Manage system design data relationships
- Access, view, and coordinate design and lifecycle data
- Automate and control the multi-disciplinary design process
- Support distributed and federated data
Context SDM integrates easily with current practices and flows, giving design teams far greater visibility, accessibility, automation and control of product design management. Context is applicable from the workgroup or development team to larger projects across the broader enterprise, scaling to meet team needs even across design disciplines.
