DSP Control Systems

Mixed-technology or multi-domain design exploration requires tools that can accurately represent digital and mixed-signal circuits, thermal, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and other engineering disciplines. Math-based computer-aided prototyping techniques with SystemVision™ allow designers to quickly model and analyze the systemic interactions between devices from virtually any domain. Mixed-technology systems can be found in many applications, including those involving process control, motion control, fluid-balance, robotics, and many others.

The DSP Servo Actuator example is designed to illustrate math-based computer-aided prototyping with SystemVision on a digitally-controlled analog servo drive. In addition to showing the mixed-technology (multi-domain) capabilities of SystemVision, this example also illustrates the ease with which VHDL-AMS and SPICE (multi-language) device models may be mixed in the same design.
