Verification and Validation

DO-254 Lifecycle

Hardware Test

Verifying the device in its target system is the ultimate test as to whether the device performs its intended function. Prior to this phase, all verification processes have tested the device either in isolation or only within a model of the system.

Testing a hardware device in isolation or in test board is not sufficient to meet the DO-254 requirements for in-target testing.

Addressing Aircraft System Development Disconnects

Technology Overview: System design is, by nature, a process of decomposition, starting from specifications and resulting in a detailed, multi-discipline design. Systems failures are often the result of disconnects in the process.... View Technology Overview

Connecting system analysis to physical test

Mentor Graphics has integrated SystemVision, the industry's premier mechatronic system design tool, with National Instruments LabVIEW environment, leveraging simulation and physical testing at the system level.

The partnership allows DO-254 project teams to build one system level, requirements-based test set for use both on the system model as it's being developed, as well as on the physical hardware when it is finally created
