Mentor Graphics Appoints New Vice President of Human Resources
WILSONVILLE, Ore., May 6, 2009–Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ: MENT) today announced it has appointed Alan Friedman as vice president of Human Resources. Friedman will be responsible for organizational planning and development, employment, compensation, benefits, safety and health, and employee services. Friedman will report to Mentor’s president, Gregory K. Hinckley.

Friedman was most recently senior vice president of the People Organization for Novell, Inc., a publicly traded maker of infrastructure software for mixed IT environments, employing over 3, 900 people. Prior to that, he worked for such companies as Cambridge Technology Partners, Arthur D. Little, Wang Laboratories and Superscope/Marantz/Philips. Friedman has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from UCLA.
