Consulting Overview

Mentor Consulting has made it our primary business to become design productivity experts. We address critical market pressures related to IC design verification and yield enhancement, system design verification (analog, digital and mixed-signal), system interconnect design and verification, and design data management. Each consulting practice focuses on a particular field of design, providing both infrastructure and methodology solutions to improve your productivity where you need it most.

The Approach

Mentor Consulting's unparalleled approach to EDA consulting, known as Knowledge-Sourcing, focuses on quickly solving your immediate design challenge while simultaneously empowering your organization to solve similar challenges in the future.

The Skill Set

Mentor Consulting has assembled the most experienced group of EDA knowledge consultants in the world and focused them in five practice areas:

  • Yield Enhancement Services
  • Verification Services
  • Data Management Services
  • Cabling Services
  • Memory Design Services

Mentor Consulting's knowledge consultants specialize in creating and implementing solutions for today's heterogeneous EDA environments. Each practice is comprised of a highly skilled and diverse team of experts. These teams have vast experience in working with customers to mitigate risks as they migrate to new design, verification, and test paradigms.

The Process

Mentor Consulting and your Mentor Graphics account team will work to understand your unique requirements. They then will create a custom proposal to meet the challenges you face and leave you prepared to face them on your own in the future. A consulting engagement can be structured to meet your business and technical requirements, whatever they may be. Whether it is a single, comprehensive engagement or a multi-phase series of engagements, Mentor Consulting has the experience to ensure your success.

An Engagement Letter is prepared to fully document the services to be provided. Upon your acceptance of the Engagement Letter and issuance of your purchase order, an engagement manager is assigned to oversee successful execution of the engagement.

The engagement manager will select a team, comprised of knowledge consultants from the appropriate practice(s), to focus on your specific design challenge. A kickoff meeting will introduce your team to ours, explain the project plan, and describe how and when status information will be provided to you. The engagement manager is always available and fully empowered to respond to any concerns that arise during the course of the engagement.

Mentor Consulting wants you to be completely satisfied with your investment in our services. At appropriate times, you will be asked for feedback regarding the services and/or deliverables you have been provided. This gives us an opportunity to resolve issues before they adversely affect the success of the overall engagement. Additionally, Mentor Consulting employs web-based surveying to gather blind feedback from your team.

Your success is our primary objective and worthy of recognition. Each engagement concludes with a wrap-up meeting to summarize the achievements of the team and to provide a chance to consider follow-on opportunities that might further increase the return on your investment.
