A JumpStart provides an expert verification consultant that works alongside your project team to understand your requirements and guide you to the right methodology.  The consultant then employs proven workshop materials to enable adoption while acting as a catalyst through direct involvement in actual project activities.

Mentor Consulting offers JumpStart support for a wide range of verification languages as well as Mentor Graphics Advanced Verification Methodology.  Verification language support includes SystemC (IEEE 1666™), SystemVerilog (IEEE 1800™) and Property Specification Language (IEEE 1850™).

The Questa verification platform features a built-in unified coverage database (UCDB) which can be used as the basis of a verification management environment.  Setting up such an environment can be included in a Questa JumpStart.

Each JumpStart follows a structured, four-step program that has proven successful.  Step 1 is a verification analysis that identifies your requirements and goals and reviews your current verification methodologies.  Recommendations for improving the verification process that are most likely to have immediate positive impact are provided.  Step 2 involves verification knowledge transfer to educate your staff in the verification subjects necessary to be successful in your new verification methodology.  Step 3 is verification planning to start your first verification effort on the right footing.  Finally, Step 4 is a verification implementation and mentoring phase - a pilot or proof-of-concept.  This approach partners our consultant with your staff on a real project activity to test and exercise the new methodology and knowledge transfer so that any kinks can be identified and corrected prior to large-scale deployment.  This also reinforces the knowledge transfer to establish internal experts.

Questa Verification Methodology JumpStarts are available in packages starting at 20 days of consulting effort.  The allocation of time to each JumpStart step is determined as part of the initial verification analysis.  The JumpStart is easily scalable to suit complex verification initiatives such as large methodology overhauls or pilot/deployment projects.
