Verification Planning & Management Consulting Workshop

Many engineering managers describe managing the functional verification of a new product as one of their more daunting challenges. For each design requirement, a corresponding verification infrastructure needs to be defined and put in place so that the design could be stimulated and checked for responses. The need to specify completeness in the test definition is keen, and one needs to know how to capture, manage, and review these requireement and their associated relationships. The quality of the product that will hit the market depends upon the thoroughness and accuracy of the test plan. More importantly, the entire team needs to agree to the test plan, and the project must be managed and directed according to that plan.

There are potentially hundreds of bugs to find, thousands of design and verification requirements to manage and review. There are thousands of lines of test bench code to write, thus verification can easily consume hundreds and hundreds of man-months. To effectively manage these resources a plan with clearly stated deliverables, roles, responsibilities and priorities must be in place and closely followed.
