Logical Cable training teaches designers how to create system interconnect designs while optionally relying on the Cable Library System (CLS) as a parts library. This training presents information on the generation and customization of wire lists, bill of materials, and cable reports as well as signal-tracing across a design and through multiple levels of design hierarchy. Also, librarians learn how to use CLS for the creation and maintenance of parts used in system interconnect design.
Objectives
- Create library parts using the Symbol Editor
- Place both symbol instances and parts from CLS on a design
- Use cabling-specific objects on a design to model interconnect functionality
- Perform design checks and corrections
- Update and replace parts on a design
- Trace signals on a design
- Generate and customize wire lists, bill of materials, and cable reports
- Create and modify part data in the CLS environment
Audience
Designers, librarians, and CAD support personnel actively involved in system interconnect design or a related support role.
Prerequisites
Familiarity with computer-aided engineering processes, specifically with design capture
