The Expedition PCB Update 2007.1 course was designed to give users of Expedition PCB 2005.x insight and experience with many of the new capabilities and features of Expedition PCB 2007.1 release.
NOTE: this is not an introduction to Expedition. You will find links at the bottom of the page directing you to product training for Expedition and related software.
Detailed lab exercises help reinforce what is discussed during the lectures and provide you with extensive tool usage experience under the guidance of our industry expert instructors.
You will learn how to
- Migrate 2005.x Central Libraries to 2007.1
- Migrate 2005.x Design Capture/Expedition flow or DxDesigner/Expedition flow designs to 2007.1
- Navigate through the new CES GUI enhancements
- Create Net Class to Net Class clearances using the new Class to Class clearance matrix
- Apply Z-Axis clearances and Component Package Type Clearances to a design
- Setup parameters for plane layers using the Plane Assignments dialog box
- Apply Hierarchical Plane Rules and Overrides to Layer, Nets, Shapes and Pins
- Create and edit Plane Editing Sketch to modify a Generated Plane Shape
- Copy part of a placed and routed design and paste it into a new design
- Move, Rotate, Copy and Change Layers of a circuit
- Explain the function of new features such as Advanced Teardrops, Plow Fail Messages, Move Pin, Cell Metalization Areas, Skip Vias, T-Junction Control, Interactive Tuning, Draw Object Line Styles and Improved Snapping
- Create a multi-sheet drawing with a board image, dimensions, feature control frames and notes using the Drawing Editor
- Use the Topology Planning and Routing tools to create and route a Bus Path
Hands-On Labs
Throughout this course, extensive hands-on lab exercises provide you with practical experience using EE2007.1 Expedition PCB software. Hands-on lab topics include:- Migrating a Central Library and a Design Project to 2007.1
- Setting up Net Class to Net Class, Z-Axis and Component Type to Component Type Clearances
- Setting up Plane Assignments and Plane Classes, overriding and modify Thermals, and using Plane Editing Sketch
- Copying components and routing from one design into another
- Copying, moving, rotating and changing layers of a circuit
- Using the Drawing Editor to create a multi-sheet drawing with the board, dimensions, feature control frames and notes
- Setting up and routing a Bus Path, a Shielded Bus and a Tuned Bus
