Course Overview
The BridgePoint xtUML course will help you create, debug, and translate platform independent models of your existing systems using executable UML diagrams, Object Action Language, and BridgePoint Model Compiler arhectypes.
Hands-on lab exercises will reinforce lecture and discussion topics under the guidance of our industry expert instructors.
You will learn how to
- Discover proper use for xtUML class diagrams, components, state machines, etc
- Construct a platform-independent model using xtUML diagrams and Action Language
- Correctly Verify a platform-independent xtUML model using the integrated debugger within BridgePoint
- Translate a platform-independent model to a platform-specific implementation using BridgePoint’s Model Compiler
Hands-On Labs
Throughout this course, extensive hands-on lab exercises provide you with practical experience using BridgePoint xtUML software. Hands-on lab topics include:
- Becoming familiar with the canvas-based user interface
- Structuring xtUML models
- Defining custom datatypes
- Creating object behavior using Object Action Language
- Verifying a constructed model using Model Verifier
- Developing a Class Diagram
- Constructing Associations and Operations for classes
- Creating custom archetypes to produce source code from a model
Prerequisites
This is not, in general, a course to teach concepts of executable UML. A working knowledge of this topic is presupposed, and is necessary to gain the most out of this course. This course will cover areas of executable UML that relate specifically to BridgePoint’s implementation of the standard.
